An Activity for School age children

Before You Begin:

Gather materials:

White craft cups, black tempera paint sticks, large pom poms, yarn,
wiggly eyes, and orange foam.

Activity Goals:
Teaches weaving, fine motor skills, and imagination. Use with a lesson on winter animals
and birds.

Steps:

1. Begin with the cup open side down.
2. Using a black tempera stick, color the entire white cup except for a u-shaped spot on the
   front. Paint dries very quickly.
3. Add eyes and feet and a nose cut from orange foam using glue
4. Glue yarn to the top edge of the cup at the base of the large pom
5. The hat is made from a large pom pom glued to the top with a small pom on top of that
