An Activity for Preschoolers:
Explore the sensation of using a pine cone as a paint “brush!”

Before You Begin:
Gather pine cones, paper plates, paintbrushes, BioColor® paint.

Activity Goals:
Explore painting and stamping with different objects
Exercise creativity.

Furthermore:
This craft can be made for additional holidays such as the 4th of July, Christmas and St.
Patrick’s Day. Choose the paint colors that align with the holiday.

Steps:

1. Place green, orange and brown tempera paint on separate paper plates.
2. Paint the pine cones any way that you wish, making sure to paint more deeply that the
   tips.
3. Try mixing two colours together.
4. Allow to dry, and then incorporate them into a beautiful fall decoration.
