An Activity for Preschoolers:
These simple leaf ornaments will delight any class and make for a great craft for chilly
autumn days.

Before You Begin:
Place feathers, foam letters, foam leaves, wooden frames, glue and other objects on an
activity table…

Activity Goals:
Develop fine motor skills
Exercise creativity

Furthermore:
You can write students’ names on the back of each ornament with a black permanent
marker.

Steps:

1. Roll clay out to about a ¼” thickness. Cut into a 3.5” circle. Poke a hole towards the edge
   of the circle with a pencil.
2. Gently press a fabric leaf into the clay.
3. Paint watercolor over the top and allow to dry.
4. Once dry, poke a pipe cleaner through the hole and hang around the classroom to create a
   festive fall atmosphere.
