Before You Begin:
Begin this colorful craft by gathering paper plates, self-adhesive foam shapes and glue.
Activity Goals:
To create a traditional Indian mandala while exploring symmetry, color and balance.

Mandalas are a great way to explore color, shapes and symmetry while learning about
other cultures and art.
Steps:
- Paint a paper plate with a dark background color and allow to dry.
- Gather foam shapes in bright colors. To create a mandala, you should gather each shape
in the same shade to create symmetry. - Once the paper plate is dry, glue the foam pieces to the paper plate.
- Hang the finished mandala on a wall for a beautiful, collaborative classroom display.
