An Activity for Preschoolers:
Children can create a great takehome
craft with these fun corn and
pumpkin shapes!
Before You Begin:
Place pony beads in bowls and set
out the rest of the supplies.

Furthermore:
Talk about different kinds of corn
and their uses. Perhaps you could
bring in some dried ears of different kinds of corn to show the children.
Steps:
- For pumpkins, take eight brown pipe cleaners and bunch them together. Fold the bunch
in half and twist once. Spread the “legs” out evenly. - String the “legs” with orange pony beads, leaving about an inch at each end.
- Twist the ends together to form a stem and attach a curled green pipe cleaner around the
stem for a vine. - For corn, bunch eight brown or yellow pipe cleaners together. Fold the bunch in half and
twist once. Spread the “legs” out evenly. - String the “legs” with white, orange, and/or yellow pony beads, leaving about an inch at
each end. - Twist ends together.
