An Activity for School-Age:
Give dad a card that really stands up!

Before You Begin:
Gather the following materials to create this special gift: craft rolls, markers, paint,
construction paper and any collage items desired for decorating.

Activity Goals:
To create a unique standing card for dad.

Furthermore:
This activity encourages out-of-the-box thinking as children create a unique standing card
with a personalized message.

Steps:

1. Make a sign or two with a message for dad using paint, markers and other collage
   materials. Set aside to dry.
2. Draw a self-portrait vertically on the tube of an art roll.
3. Cut slits in the top of the roll to hold the sign above the portrait’s head.
4. Place the dried sign into the slits above the picture.
5. Place the art in a place dad will find it, such as the kitchen counter or next to his sink.
